I.F. "Old Fashioned"

Tomorrow is the 50th anniversary of Ted Williams retirement from the game of baseball. Fitting, I thought for this weeks installment of I.F., "Old Fashioned". I have always admired the man, even though I have no ties to the city of Boston, or the Red Sox for that matter. When I was 12 years old I read a article about him being the greatest hitter of all-time, still a good argument, even with all of the great hitters since. I sent a letter to him, at that time the manager of the Texas Rangers, with a self- addressed stamped envelope, and a 3x5 card, asking for his autograph.
Two years later I got a letter with the same card, autographed, in the envelope I sent. That says alot about the man. I'm not sure you would get the same out of today's great hitters.

Illustration Friday: "Dessert"

I have given myself a 2 hour window on Sundays to draw and post the current theme for I.F. That gives me two days to research. I had a heck of a hard time trying to come up with any kind of unique ideas, and when all else fails, I resort to crows! Many people do not like them, but I do. I have had 2 as pets, and that experience gave me a whole new perspective on them. They are smart, and extremely animated. And they will eat anything.

"Immovable" for Illustration Friday

Finally posted to I.F. This was a big achievement for me. I didn't realize how mich work was involved in posting a simple drawing. It will be easier next time, but not being a technophile is definately a drawback.
